About Branching Out
Branching Out is an autism‑specific program for young adults aged 18 to 25.
We support young adults to build confidence, independence, and daily living skills while giving carers and parents a genuine break and peace of mind.
The Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers to join our brand new Branching Out team.
You will support autistic young adults using a person‑centred and strengths‑based approach. This role is hands‑on and varied, working closely with participants in daily routines, skill‑building activities, and meaningful experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred, autism‑specific support
- Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, personal care, routines, and planning
- Support participation in farm‑based and outdoor activities
- Encourage choice, independence, and self‑determination
- Support small group outings in the local community
- Maintain a safe, structured, and calm environment
- Build positive, respectful relationships with participants and families
- Complete documentation and follow care plans
About You
The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and have a flexible approach with experience or a willingness to support autistic people. You will have strong communication and observation skills, can work within routines while supporting individual choice and be reliable, trustworthy and team-focused.
This is a casual position with shifts rostered across the morning, afternoon and evening. Candidates must be able to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays and be able to complete sleepover shifts.
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check
- Police Check
- First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence
- Right to work in Australia
